The House of Performance: A tangible Ourobos.

We invite you to the never ending party in the castle just out of reach. Together, let's create a space that is simultaneously dead and alive.

This one week residency allows its inhabitants the space of a week to call upon the unknown, to make manifest ideas that are as yet non-existent. The house offers six shape-shifting rooms in a temporary autonomous zone, interconnected by our collective unconsciousness. Here we are able to develop our thoughts and  plans formulating new concrete realities - a safe place to transform,  meet new minds and to open ourselves to new experiences and working methodologies.
Residents will offer daily morning and evening workshops and presentations demonstrating their artistic practice. They will cook, sleep and work communally as well as being given the opportunity to develop their personal practice. The House facilitates shifts in altered states of consciousness.

Alice Colley is the creator and founding member of The House of performance. She is a Berlin based musician and performance artist. Alice studied Drama and Theatre Arts (BA) and Performance Making (MA) at Goldsmiths in London, graduating in 2013.

Alice founded 'The Room of Eyes' an interdisciplinary immersive sonic performance event, which, she received funding from Neukölln Bezirksamt in 2017 in order to run a two-day festival. The next Room of Eyes takes place on January 24th at Alte Münze as part of CTM's Vorspiel.

Alice is one half of The Hellfire Project with Rob Hart, which received funding in order to create an immersive headphone performance 'The Path of Capricorn' at 48 stunden Neukölln in June 2019.
Alice has been living and working in Berlin since 2015 where she teaches classical violin and works as a freelance artist.

Philip Yakushin is a Russian photographer. Philip graduated from the Fine Art Photography school in Moscow in 2016, and currently he’s a student of Moscow Institute of Contemporary Art. Philip is a portrait photographer and creates work that explores a persons' interior world. He is interested in showing what is hidden from people’s eyes. Philip has two ongoing projects, “Ethereality” and “Evanesce”.

Katharina Bévand (*Munich, 1988) is a sound artist based in Berlin. In 2017, she was awarded an honorary mention from the »bonn hoeren – sonotopia« contest of the Beethoven Foundation for Arts and Culture, Bonn. After having studied Fine Arts between Spain, Brazil, and South Korea, she completed the Master of Sound Studies at Udk Berlin, and is now part of the Intermission Collective as well as board member of the Berlin Association for New Music. She exhibited internationally, among others, at Dystopia Festival for Sound Art (Berlin),  Space21 Festival (Autonomous Region of Kurdistan in Iraq), and the 2019 Madou Sugar Factory Art Triennial in Tainan (Taiwan). Her artistic practice moves between sonic performances and installations, which explore the acoustics of architecture, objects and their relation to the human body, movement, and the environment. 

Charlotte CHW is an interdisciplinary Artist and Performer from London, UK. Her practice explores authenticity of communication and the abstraction and disconnection that can be inherent in this, especially in the context of the experience of sickness and pain. She is also interested in the attraction to the abject, in and outside of sexual desire. She combines bizarre and unexpected materials and mediums - recent ongoing work ‘O Petty Death’ is a series of live painting performances using dead flowers as brushes. She teaches and runs workshops frequently - in ceramics, sound art, performance and more and sees this as integrated into her practice as is her work with marginalised people. She has performed and exhibited Worldwide. Shows include ‘Home’ in Curitiba, Brazil, Folkestone Triennial, MPAB (Month of Performance Art Berlin), Der Spinnerei, Leipzig, ‘Curiouser’, Brussels and 100 Years of Dada at Café Oto, London. She was also curator of Arts Platforms Cerebellum, UK.

Alexey Kokhanov is a singer, sound artist and performer based in Berlin and Moscow. Singing studies at the University Mozarteum Salzburg and Flanders Operastudio in Gent, Belgium. Alexey’s activity includes the performance of contemporary music, creation of sound performances and masterclasses on vocal improvisation.

Katja Wiegand is a Berlin-based artist with german-russian background. She currently studies the ma in dance studies and works as a freelance performer, dancer and actress and teaches physical theatre workshops and classes. Her dance performance „Soilace“ was shown at Tanzlandfestival in August 2018 and at Lake Studios Berlin in May 2019. She works with the New International Performing Arts Institute (NIPAI) and was a jury member in the International Dance Competition of the International Dance Association (IDA) in February 2019 in Florence. She just started to work with her newly founded collective on an immersive theatre production about the phenomenon of stalking. Furthermore, she is also working as a research assistant at the HZT (Inter-University Center of Dance) Berlin on the connections between aesthetic experience and artistic practice and the systemic (non-)representations of specific bodies and as a curator for a dance student festival.

RESÜMEE "FREIRAUM BAHNHOF"

Eine interdisziplinäre Begegnungsstätte für Kunst, Kultur und Handwerk ist möglich!

 Am 24.08.2019 haben sich Künstler*innen und Musiker*innen, unterschiedlichster künstlerischer Gewerke und aus unterschiedlichen Städten kommend, auf dem Bahnhofsgelände in Großzöberitz getroffen um für 24 h eine mögliche Zukunft für diesen Ort zu simulieren:

Für einen Tag und eine Nacht wurde gemeinsam eine interdisziplinäre Begegnungsstätte für Kunst, Kultur und Handwerk geschaffen!

Die Initiative Kunst- und Kulturbahnhof Tannepöls hatte zuvor für diesen Tag drei Fragen formuliert:

• Wie könnte eine interdisziplinäre Begegnungsstätte für Kunst, Kultur und Handwerk auf dem Bahnhofsgelände aussehen?
• Wie kommt diese Idee bei Nachbarn, Gästen aus der Region und der Gemeinde an - wie ist die Resonanz?
• Gibt es weitere interessierte Kunst- und Kulturschaffende aus der Region, die vielleicht Lust auf eine Kooperation hätten?
